A New First! My first week of Student Teaching

It's the end of the week! As promised I'm sharing my first week of my student teaching experience!

I want to start off my by saying thank you to everyone who wished my a good first week at school, prayers and sweet words of encouragement! Wow! What an amazing week it has been of learning and getting to know the education ropes. This semester I won't have any education classes but will have assignments due every 6 weeks along with weekly reports. From now on, I will be in the classroom 5 days a week all day long. I am student teaching in a second grade classroom and have already gotten to know all of the students in the class. I student taught in this class one day a week last semester. The students come from all different backgrounds and cultures and this is what makes them so unique and special. They are some of the sweetest human beings I have ever met. Of course, like every child there are behavior issues here and there but overall this class is so lovable and fun to work with! I'm still getting used to teaching and learning things that I need to improve on like time management and  consistency, so I'm eager receive feedback from my teacher! One of my favorite parts of student teaching has been helping students who are struggling to grasp concepts. This is where my passion of teaching stems from because I struggled in school in my early years of education. I love helping students learn and feel successful! Overall this week was very successful and I cannot wait to get back to school on Monday! Follow my posts for updates of my student teaching experiences!

Being you in 2016!

It's a NEW YEAR!

As the holidays come to an end and the year finishes I always have sentimental feeling. Many of us think about all of the things that have happened in the year and reflect on the good, the bad, and the in between. Events that we never thought could happen did and that leaves us feeling anxious about what the new year will bring. 2015 has been an amazing year but now it's time to make new memories and begin with a fresh start! Today, I'm sharing with you my personal goals for 2016!

My first goal for the year is to continue to stay fit and in shape. Last year my "resolution" was to incorporate exercise into my daily lifestyle. Prior to the year I had never made health and fitness a part of my life and I felt my body needed a change. I began the year with working out 4 times a week and each week I felt more pleased with how my body felt. I love how excersise can relieve stress and help you become more disciplened in life. This year I want to focus more on the things I'm eating and explore healthy yet delicious food options. My second goal is to make stress my friend. Over the years I've been notourious for stress taking over my life. This year I want to learn how to let stress be something positive rather than letting it take over my well-being. My last goal is to enjoy every single moment of life, to get closer to God and to let him be the writer of book everyday. I believe it is so important to have an open heart to new experiences and to live everyday as it would be your last. I want to live true to these words this year and see where He takes me! I can't wait for you to be a part of my journey! I pray blessings upon your life and wish you the best year yet!
